A wobbly video of my feathered friends to let you know about a new blog post. I've been writing about the city wildlife I spend most of my time with, as I stay at home in hiding from the pandemic. Not really ABOUT hearts, but probably familiar to many who live with a heart condition. Link to blog in bio and it's today's post, called Tell It To The Birds. #shielding #StayAtHome #lockdown #coronavirus #ChronicIllness #HeartFailure #birds
Q: Just what is the Queen looking at? A: the TINY scar from the angiogram I had 9 years ago.
Did you have a suitably spooky Halloween yesterday? I celebrated by publishing the latest issue of the collaborative Heart Haiku zine...and it's a beauty! You can download your own FREE copy at the blog. Just visit www.heartytales.co.uk and click on Creative Resources. #haiku #zine #HeartDisease #fear #halloween
This month's haiku prompt is (appropriately) FEAR. We're looking for creative contributions from anyone with lived experience of heart disease. No writing experience is required. At the end of the month a collaborative zine will be put together - free to download and print at home. Visit www.heartytales.co.uk and see the recent post A Haiku or Two: Fears for full details. Just leave your contribution as a comment. You can contribute anonymously if you would prefer and you can interpret the prompt in any way you like - heartfelt or light-hearted responses are equally welcome! Please share this post with anyone you think might be interested in giving it a go. Thanks! 🙌
Happy World Heart Day! To mark the occasion I've shared a FREE printable and instructions to make your very own vintage-style heart collage. These beauties look amazing but I swear they are totally achievable for absolute beginners. They're also quick to make, a lot of fun and entirely customisable. Just visit the blog (heartytales.co.uk) and click on Creative Resources to access the PDF file.
Today I've mostly been reading about the impact of #gender and #age on the experience of living with a #pacemaker or #ICD. Oh, it's a big old can of worms, and one that I will have A LOT to say about one day, but in the meantime, it's made me all the more determined to normalise the idea that young women have cardiac devices too. Hence, "It's not weird (for girls) to be wired!" See my stories for a bit more on this topic.

Comments are always appreciated!
